How does HostGator support compare to other web hosting providers in the industry?

From my personal experience (and I have several HostGator hosting accounts) the technical support you receive for shared and reseller hosting accounts from HostGator is above average. I have always received some sort of response to a ticket request within 24 hours and usually much quicker if I contact them during a weekday during regular business hours.

I have some experience with other shared hosting providers and it can be a couple of days or more before I get the response I need to move forward.

So why is HostGator providing better customer support? The first thing that comes to my mind is that because HostGator is so HUGE they have more staff on hand to answer customer questions and concerns.

This is good news if you’re a beginner with web hosting who may have a lot of questions.

Contacting HostGator Support

If you need some assistance you have a couple of ways to contact HostGator support. The first is directly via email. You can send an email from your account to support@hostgator.com and that will automatically generate a support ticket request with your question. You’ll receive a response letting you know that your support ticket has been received and you can expect a response in a timely manner.

The second option is via their support ticket service on their website. If you visit the HostGator.com site and then click the support tab you’ll see the option to submit a ticket for support. This is more or less the same thing as sending an email as above, expect this time you’re entering the data directly into their support ticket system.

All responses whether you submit via email or their support ticket system will be responded to via their support ticket system.

The final option to contact HostGator support is by phone. I have personally never done this as I’ve always had fantastic luck when contacting their support via email, but there is a support phone number listed on the HostGator website on the support page.

If you have just recently signed up for a HostGator account and you’re wondering how to find your Cpanel login there are a couple of easy ways you can do this.

First is to go to your root domain, for this example we’re going to assume it’s my site http://www.hostgatorcouponfor2011.org/. What we need to do is add something to the end of the URL in the URL bar at the top of our browser.
